Hangzhou has been one of the hottest regions in China for the past half month. The Hangzhou Meteorological Observatory issued an orange high temperature warning on the morning of the 19th: Hangzhou is expected to continue to be affected by the subtropical high pressure in the next four days, causing most areas to be shrouded in scorching heat. It is generally predicted that the maximum temperature will hover between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius, and the temperature in some areas may rise to above 40 degrees Celsius.
As the temperature in Hangzhou rises, the pressure on power load is also increasing. In order to ensure the reliable supply of electricity during the peak summer period, Hangzhou Power Supply Company has jointly developed a 100-meter-level radio frequency identification temperature measurement system with a number of units (including Beijing Zhixin Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute Co., Ltd., etc.). Through long-distance, real-time and efficient temperature monitoring methods, it provides a strong guarantee for the safe operation of power equipment, improves the reliability of power supply, and reduces operation and maintenance costs and workload.
A new breakthrough in identifying distance
This system is one of the important achievements of the State Grid Corporation of China's science and technology project "Research on key technologies and application systems of tag chips suitable for 100-meter-level radio frequency identification systems". It consists of temperature measurement tags, transmitting devices, reading and writing devices and background configuration software, etc. The temperature measurement tag is powered by radio frequency signals and does not require a built-in battery, achieving zero-maintenance operation. One read-write device can simultaneously collect and process data from up to 70 temperature measurement tags, significantly reducing the high deployment costs of traditional monitoring methods due to numerous temperature measurement points in the substation.
In order to break through the communication distance limitations of traditional RFID technology (usually no more than 15 meters), in the process of developing a 100-meter-level RFID temperature measurement system, the R&D team adopted an innovative strategy and subdivided the functions of traditional readers into transmitters. and receiving modules: the transmitting module is cleverly placed no more than 10 meters away from the sensor to ensure accurate transmission of signal instructions; while the receiving module can be deployed remotely, up to 100 meters away from the temperature measurement tag, effectively Capture and process the weak signals returned by the sensor. This innovative architecture successfully extends the radio frequency identification range to nearly 6 times that of traditional technology.
Application Examples and Results
The 220 kV Hengling substation in Donghu Street, Linping District, Hangzhou has successfully applied this 100-meter radio frequency identification temperature measurement system. Hangzhou Power Supply Company has installed temperature measurement tags on the 24 disconnectors in the 220 kV line interval of the station. By real-time monitoring of the temperature of the disconnector contacts, operation and maintenance personnel can view temperature data in real time on the background configuration software, thereby achieving a comprehensive grasp of the operating status of the disconnector.
This system not only improves the efficiency of discovering and handling overheating defects of power equipment, but also greatly reduces the workload of operation and maintenance personnel. Originally, there were two main temperature measurement methods for substations: manual and robot infrared temperature measurement. However, during the peak summer (winter) and important power supply periods, operation and maintenance personnel need to frequently go to the site for temperature measurement, which is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive, but also has certain safety hazards. The application of the 100-meter radio frequency identification temperature measurement system enables operation and maintenance personnel to grasp the equipment operation status in real time in the background, and realize the delay-free troubleshooting of equipment overheating hazards.
In addition, the system also has the characteristics of a wide temperature measurement range, a large number of measurable devices, and high safety. The temperature measurement tag does not require battery power and maintenance, which reduces operation and maintenance costs. At the same time, the system does not use the public communication network, but uses radio frequency communication technology for information transmission, ensuring the security of data transmission.
It is reported that the 100-meter radio frequency identification temperature measurement system can increase the efficiency of discovering and handling overheating defects of important substation equipment by 60%, and provide strong technical support for the stable supply of electricity through digital means.
